E2DR: Energy Efficient Data Replication in Data Grid
Abstract— Data grids are an important branch of gird computing which provide mechanisms for the management of large volumes of distributed data. Energy efficiency has recently emerged as a hot topic in large distributed systems. The development of computing systems is traditionally focused on performance improvements driven by the demand of client's applications in scientific and business domai...
متن کاملP2P Network Trust Management Survey
Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...
متن کاملM-CASEngine: A Collaborative Environment for Computer-Assisted Surgery
Most computer-assisted surgery systems are an isolated standalone system in the operation room with obtrusive and cumbersome wired connections. Surgery data preparation, registration, segmentation, planning, etc. have to be running at one place. Dynamic data acquisition and cooperation during the surgical procedure is not currently possible. We develop the M-CASEngine system which provides a di...
متن کاملDisTriB: Distributed Trust Management Model Based on Gossip Learning and Bayesian Networks in Collaborative Computing Systems
The interactions among peers in Peer-to-Peer systems as a distributed collaborative system are based on asynchronous and unreliable communications. Trust is an essential and facilitating component in these interactions specially in such uncertain environments. Various attacks are possible due to large-scale nature and openness of these systems that affects the trust. Peers has not enough inform...
متن کاملPerspectives on Computer Assisted Surgery (cas) in Minimally Invasive Surgery and the Role of the Cas System Nurse
Minimally invasive surgery has become a widely used surgical technique that improves patients’ safety and optimizes health resources. Specifically, laparoscopic surgery uses small incisions through the abdomen to operate, for example a liver, with minimal postoperative complications and faster recoveries. However, the cognitive load and surgical skills required by surgeons increase when compare...
